Ripple Focuses on AI Adoption as Revenue Growth Projected for 2026

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse announced on August 20, 2026, that the company is vigorously integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into its operations to drive revenue and expand its workforce. During the SALT Wyoming Blockchain Symposium, he highlighted AI as a key component in enhancing Ripple’s business, which currently employs around 1,500 people globally.

Ambitious Growth Targets

Garlinghouse expressed optimism that Ripple will more than double its annual revenue over the course of 2026, despite ongoing challenges in the market. The company is actively seeking to fill about 150 open positions, emphasizing a commitment to hiring as it anticipates significant revenue growth.

A Focus on Institutional Services

Ripple’s public careers portal lists 94 job openings, including numerous roles dedicated to AI-driven operations. The company’s platform, Ripple Prime, facilitates more than $3 trillion in transactions annually for over 300 institutional clients. Garlinghouse referred to AI as an “enabler and an accelerant,” allowing businesses with existing customer demand to enhance their operations.

AI as a Tool for Growth

During the conference, Garlinghouse addressed concerns that AI technology leads to corporate layoffs, arguing instead that businesses announcing large staff reductions may already have been inefficient. “When I see companies announce big layoffs and they say, ‘Oh, well, AI X, Y, and Z,’ that to me says, ‘Well, they were bloated before and they’re using this as an excuse,’” he explained. His comments reflect a general viewpoint and do not pertain directly to specific firms.

Ripple’s Continued Evolution

Ripple has broadened its services beyond traditional cross-border payments, engaging in acquisitions that enhance its offerings. Notably, the company acquired Hidden Road for $1.25 billion in October 2025, expanding into global prime brokerage services, now rebranded as Ripple Prime. This acquisition was expected to triple the size of this division yet remains a claim unverified through independent audits.

Connecting Traditional and Decentralized Finance

Garlinghouse linked the company’s ambitions to its focus on financial infrastructure, providing services in payment, custody, and treasury operations. He stated, “More and more people are realizing that the infrastructure side, the institutional side is where it’s at.” Similarly, Ripple President Monica Long noted that AI and blockchain technology could work synergistically to optimize financial management processes.

Future Prospects

As Ripple moves forward with its ambitious goals, the company’s upcoming hiring practices and revenue achievements will offer insight into its success in realizing Garlinghouse’s projections. While plans for a potential public listing remain unannounced, this would allow for the availability of audited financial information in the future. Notably, Ripple’s growth does not automatically equate to increased demand for its digital asset, XRP, as Ripple operates as a separate entity from its cryptocurrency offerings.
