Ondo Finance Welcomes Former Blockchain.com CFO as New Finance Chief

Ondo Finance Welcomes a New Leader in Financial Operations

Ondo Finance has announced the appointment of Adam Schlisman as chief financial officer, marking a significant addition to its leadership team. Schlisman, who previously held the finance chief position at Blockchain.com, joins as the company aims to enhance its institutional business.

Expanding Institutional Operations

The move to bring Schlisman on board aligns with Ondo Finance’s strategy to expand its institutional offerings and product lineup. Schlisman previously served as CFO at Monashee Investment Management, a global macro hedge fund, where he was responsible for financial operations. His extensive experience also includes nearly a decade at Graham Capital Management, focusing on portfolio management and risk.

Focus on Tokenized Markets

Ondo Finance has gained attention for its initiatives in the tokenized capital markets. The company has recently rolled out several products, including Ondo Network, Ondo Perps, and Ondo Global Markets. In a press release, Schlisman noted that the company is at a pivotal moment for institutional adoption across various business lines.

Comments from the New CFO

“Ondo has reached the inflection point every finance leader looks for,”

Schlisman commented, highlighting the company’s significant milestones, including Ondo Stocks surpassing $1 billion in total value locked (TVL). He emphasized his mandate to establish financial operations capable of accommodating the anticipated growth in tokenized markets.

Recent Leadership Changes

Schlisman’s appointment follows a series of strategic hires as Ondo continues to build its executive roster. This includes the recent addition of John Hoffman from Grayscale and Invesco, who now serves as managing director and head of product portfolios. The leadership restructuring comes in the wake of the unexpected passing of Ondo’s founder, Nathan Allman, in May.

Continued Growth and Innovation

Under the guidance of CEO Ian De Bode, who succeeded Allman, Ondo has been committed to enhancing product offerings and partnerships within both traditional finance and digital assets. The company’s recent redesign of its trading infrastructure aims to improve execution speeds – a crucial factor for institutional trading.

Infrastructure for Future Tokenized Securities

As part of its innovative approach, Ondo recently introduced the Ondo Network, designed to facilitate fast trading with self-custody and on-chain settlement. This initiative is a response to the need for efficient trading mechanisms in the evolving landscape of tokenized assets.

Challenges and Opportunities in Tokenization

Schlisman’s arrival comes amid increasing competition for talent in the tokenized asset market. Many professionals from traditional finance are transitioning to the crypto space, reflecting the growing interest in blockchain-based financial solutions. Ondo’s focus on asset tokenization continues to attract attention as it integrates with major exchanges and custodians.
