H100 Group Reports $10.3M Loss Amid Bitcoin Price Decline
H100 Group Records Significant Quarterly Loss
H100 Group, a health-tech and Bitcoin treasury company listed in Sweden, has announced a pre-tax loss of 98 million Swedish kronor (approximately $10.3 million) for the second quarter of 2026. This financial setback is largely attributed to the decline in Bitcoin’s price, which has negatively impacted the company’s treasury holdings.
Impact of Bitcoin Price Decline
The company indicated that nearly all of this quarterly loss stemmed from a non-cash write-down related to the depreciation of Bitcoin’s value. Despite a rise in operating income to SEK 6.1 million for the first half of 2026, H100 reported a cumulative pre-tax loss of SEK 253 million for the first six months of the year.
Bitcoin Holdings and Expansion Strategy
As of now, H100 Group holds 3,506 BTC, having recently acquired it through the purchase of two Norwegian Bitcoin treasury firms. This acquisition strategically positions H100 as Europe’s second-largest listed Bitcoin treasury company.
H100 began its treasury strategy with only 4.39 BTC in May 2025. Subsequent capital raises allowed the company to significantly bolster its Bitcoin reserves, culminating in its recent expansion to over 3,500 BTC. In March 2026, they initiated an all-share transaction to acquire Norwegian companies, completed in August, which added approximately 2,455 BTC to their holdings.
Market Response and Future Outlook
Despite its strategic expansion, H100’s shares have faced challenges, experiencing a 4.2% drop on a recent trading day and a total decline of about 24% in 2026. Earlier in the year, the company’s stock had surged nearly 40% following its first Bitcoin acquisition, highlighting the volatile nature of cryptocurrency impacts on traditional stock performances.
H100 highlighted the importance of accounting measures for cryptocurrency holdings, indicating that while significant unrealized losses were reported, actual cash consumption during the quarter was markedly lower, recorded at SEK 5.1 million.
The results underscore the challenges faced by companies heavily invested in cryptocurrencies, particularly as market prices fluctuate, and the importance of strategic financial planning in mitigating risks associated with digital assets.
