UMX Launches Invitation-Only Beta for Crypto and U.S. Stocks

UMX Launches Invitation-Only Beta for Crypto and U.S. Stocks

UMX, the Unified Market Exchange developed by Li Lin’s Avenir Group, has officially launched an invitation-only public beta as of August 10, 2026. This new platform is designed for professional investors and uniquely combines the trading of cryptocurrencies with real U.S. stocks, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and options.

Beta Features and Functionality

The UMX platform allows users to convert stablecoins like USDT into U.S. dollars or use their crypto holdings as collateral to fund direct purchases of securities. Significantly, UMX emphasizes that its users will hold actual shares of U.S. companies, not just contracts for difference (CFDs) or tokenized products that track stock prices.

According to reports, the securities offerings include stocks, ETFs, options, and fractional shares, which can be traded during premarket, regular, after-hours, and overnight sessions. The platform aims to streamline the process of moving capital between crypto and securities accounts, allowing greater integration between these two markets.

Access and User Eligibility

While the platform is targeted at global professional investors, access may vary based on location and account status. However, it remains unclear if U.S. residents can utilize the securities services, as offering assets listed in the U.S. and serving customers based in the U.S. present different compliance challenges.

Capital Integration Features

One of the platform’s key innovations is the “Exchange Transfer” feature, which facilitates the conversion of stablecoins into U.S. dollars for use in securities accounts. Additionally, the “Loan Transfer” feature allows users to leverage crypto assets as collateral, further enhancing their buying power within the stock market.

UMX has introduced a “Shares to Token” functionality, enabling the conversion of stock holdings into corresponding tokenized representations, which can count towards crypto account margin requirements. However, specific details about the blockchain infrastructure, token issuers, and custody arrangements related to these conversions are not disclosed yet.

Exploring Future Developments

During this beta phase, UMX is promoting annualized yields of up to 2.5% on Bitcoin (BTC) and 5.5% on USDT products. These rates are advertised and not guaranteed, highlighting the variable nature of returns based on individual products.

Avenir Group’s approach integrates traditional finance with digital assets, as evidenced by their recent partnerships, including efforts to enhance execution efficiency in fragmented markets. Avenir’s substantial position in regulated Bitcoin ETFs positions it favorably within the evolving finance landscape.

Next Steps for UMX

As the public beta progresses, UMX invites users with access codes to register and allows potential users to reserve access to the full version and receive launch updates. The platform has not yet announced a timeline for its broader release, but stakeholders are keenly awaiting details regarding the legal structures behind its offerings and the specifics of stock token conversions.

UMX’s beta marks a significant step towards creating a cohesive trading ecosystem where stablecoins, crypto collateral, and U.S. securities coexist within a unified market structure.
