Solana Company Reports $30.3 Million Loss in Q2 Despite Staking Gains

Solana Company Reports Significant Q2 Loss

Solana Company has reported a $30.3 million loss for the second quarter of 2026, despite generating revenue primarily from staking its SOL holdings. According to the earnings release on August 14, the company posted approximately $2.5 million in revenue, almost entirely from staking operations.

Revenue Highlights and Decline

While revenue increased from $43,000 a year earlier, it fell significantly from $3.6 million recorded in the first quarter. The company’s staking efforts resulted in earning 31,200 SOL in rewards, which were automatically restaked to continue generating returns. However, this was overshadowed by a $25.4 million realized loss on digital assets, heavily impacting the quarterly results.

Operating Expenses on the Rise

Operating expenses surged to $35.1 million for the quarter, a notable rise from $3.3 million in the same period last year. This increase led to a $32.7 million operating loss compared to a $3.3 million loss during Q2 of 2025. The loss was attributed mainly to strategic sales executed as part of the company’s capital allocation program.

Financial Position and Asset Changes

Solana Company’s total assets decreased to $176.1 million from $303.9 million at the end of 2025, and cash reserves fell to $3.6 million from $7.3 million. The company also noted an accumulated deficit of $342.6 million.

Future Outlook

The company anticipates that revenues from its first institutional validator cluster, operational in Tokyo, will begin to flow in the third quarter. Additionally, the management expects administrative expenses to stabilize as severance costs from its previous medical-device business diminishes.

Despite the challenges, Solana Company continues to adapt its business structure, having transitioned away from its former Helius Medical Technologies model to focus on crypto staking and asset management.
