P2P.org Empowers Arkis Clients to Leverage Staked Assets in Trading

P2P.org has announced its latest integration with Arkis, granting institutional clients the ability to utilize staked assets from Solana and Avalanche as collateral for trading, all while continuing to earn staking rewards. This innovative feature aims to enhance trading flexibility and capital efficiency for Arkis users.

Integration Overview

According to a statement released by P2P.org on August 13, 2026, this capability allows Arkis clients to stake supported assets through P2P.org’s validator infrastructure and use these staked positions as collateral without the need to unstake them.

Trading and Margin Calculations

The margin for trades backed by staked assets is calculated based on the overall risk of the client’s Arkis account. P2P.org emphasizes that factors such as validator downtime and slashing risks will influence how Arkis values the collateral provided. This integration is accessible via the Carry Trades section of the Arkis Alpha platform.

Benefits of the New System

After a client selects a staked asset for trading, the platform will present potential strategies and their associated economics prior to capital commitment. The staked assets continue generating protocol rewards while they are in use as collateral, presenting a dual benefit for clients.

Operator Accountability

Artemiy Parshakov, VP of Strategic Solutions at P2P.org, highlighted that the effectiveness of collateral is directly linked to the integrity of the operator managing it. He noted that once an institution borrows against its staked position, staking should not be regarded merely as a passive element of the balance sheet.

Risk Management Considerations

Integrating staked assets into margin accounts introduces unique risks, including the potential penalties known as slashing, which can occur when validators fail to meet network requirements. Unlike cash or unstaked tokens, these risks are factored into margin calculations, making it essential for Arkis to evaluate the quality of the staking operator.

Market Position and Institutional Impact

According to Arkis co-founder Oleksandr Proskurin, the integration of staked assets aligns with a growing trend where institutions are increasingly holding yield-generating assets, yet credit providers have been slow to embrace these assets as marginable positions.

P2P.org, securing over $10 billion in staked assets across more than 40 proof-of-stake networks since its inception in 2018, has stated it has maintained a clean track record without any slashing incidents.

Efficiency in Capital Utilization

The ability to use staked positions as collateral without the lengthy unstaking process means that clients can maintain continual access to trading opportunities and rewards. However, it remains crucial to note that this arrangement does not eliminate the underlying risks of liquidation and slashing associated with the market performance of the tokens and validator penalties.
