Ondo Finance Unveils Fast Trading Network for a New Era

Ondo Finance has officially launched the Ondo Network, a new execution layer aimed at providing rapid, non-custodial trading solutions. This development marks a significant shift from the company’s earlier plans to implement the Ondo Chain, focusing instead on enhancing execution speeds while maintaining user privacy.

Introducing the Ondo Network

Released on July 27, 2026, the Ondo Network is described as merging the speed of centralized exchanges with the privacy of decentralized finance (DeFi). Ian De Bode, CEO of Ondo Finance, emphasized its purpose, stating, “I’d frame it more as an evolution, but we will not be running the Ondo Network and the Ondo Chain in parallel.” This transition was influenced by consultations with potential users, revealing that execution speed was the primary concern for those seeking competitive on-chain trading experiences.

How the Ondo Network Operates

By utilizing secure hardware enclaves, the network processes trades privately and efficiently. This system allows for trade execution separate from the public ledger, reducing the exposure of order flow which is often a limitation in traditional blockchains. Ondo Network’s use of a decentralized group of attestors also enhances security, ensuring application codes are properly vetted before execution.

First Application: Ondo Perps

The first application to utilize the Ondo Network is Ondo Perps, which offers perpetual futures for equities and commodities. Traders can engage with the platform around the clock, leveraging tokenized real-world assets as collateral. Launched earlier in July, Ondo Perps supports up to 20 times leverage and has been designed for users outside the United States.

Regulatory Backing for Ondo’s Innovations

This launch aligns with new regulatory permissions granted to Ondo’s SEC-registered broker-dealer subsidiary, Oasis Pro Markets. These authorizations cover a range of financial instruments and provide a regulated framework for U.S. investors to potentially access tokenized securities through their existing financial avenues. However, the permissions do not automatically extend to previous products offered by Ondo, which remain subject to specific compliance measures.

As Ondo Finance continues to develop its infrastructure, it has plans to introduce additional attestors and enhance its governance through the ONDO token, which will play a critical role in the ecosystem as the platform evolves. With the launch of the Ondo Network, the company aims to redefine the intersection of speed, privacy, and decentralized finance in trading.
