DEXE Sees 96.8% Plunge Amid Ceffu Transfer Speculation

DEXE Plummets 96.8% in 11 Days

DEXE has experienced a staggering 96.8% decline over the past 11 days, dropping from a record high of nearly $49.43 to around $1.56. This sudden downturn has raised concerns regarding large transfers of DEXE from the custody platform Ceffu to Binance, prompting speculation about a potential connection to DWF Labs.

Ceffu’s Significant Transfers to Binance

According to on-chain analyst Ai Yi, Ceffu initiated a transfer of 797,917 DEXE to Binance through six transactions starting on July 13. At the time of these transfers, the tokens were valued at approximately $6.15 million, although their worth was considerably higher before the recent price drop.

Trading Activity and On-Chain Analysis

Ai Yi noted that the sharpest drop occurred on July 21, where the price fell 88% from $46.93 to $5.648 in one day. The analyst pointed out that the majority of large transfers in the on-chain analysis came from centralized exchange hot wallets, making Ceffu’s movements particularly noteworthy. While examining large flows, the analyst suggested that these transfers might not reflect the timing of the initial positions but rather their later on-chain settlements. This could imply that DEXE deposited with Ceffu might have been leveraged for trading prior to the price decline.

Questions Surrounding Ceffu’s Custodial Holdings

Despite the significant activity involving Ceffu, Ai Yi reported a lack of evidence linking the DEXE project team to the tokens held by the custody platform. The investigation did not uncover any indication that the DEXE team had deposited tokens with Ceffu, as much of the supply appeared to remain in the project’s treasury and related contracts.

Connections to DWF Labs and Falcon Finance

In an effort to trace further connections, Ai Yi identified Falcon Finance as a partner of DEXE, noting that Falcon had facilitated DEXE as collateral on its platform and used Ceffu for asset custody. The analyst mentioned potential links between Falcon Finance and DWF Labs, which is also listed as a partner of DEXE. However, clear evidence establishing a connection between these parties and the recent market decline was not provided, leaving open the possibility of other explanations for the transfer activities.

A Context of Recent Token Sell-Offs

DEXE’s significant collapse follows a trend observed in the cryptocurrency market, where other tokens have also experienced heavy sell-offs. Recently, LAB declined by more than 60% amid insider trading allegations, and Humanity Protocol’s H token lost over 80% after hacking incidents. These recent events highlight ongoing concerns about market transparency and the influence of custodial activities in cryptocurrency valuations.
