Bullish Reports $280 Million Loss as Crypto Trading Weakens

Bullish has reported a significant net loss of $280 million for the second quarter of 2026, a stark contrast to its net income of $108.3 million reported during the same period last year. This loss translates to $1.78 per diluted share during a quarter marked by slowing crypto trading activity.

Financial Performance Overview

Despite the overall loss, Bullish reported adjusted revenue of $92.6 million, representing a strong growth of 62% compared to $57 million from the previous year. This increase was fueled by a record $62.7 million in subscription and services revenue, even as trading volumes declined significantly.

Trading Conditions and Market Response

During this period, crypto markets faced challenges, with Bitcoin trading primarily in the low-to-mid $60,000 range, minimizing trading activity. This soft market environment contributed to a fall in digital asset sales to $32.6 billion, down from $58.6 billion a year prior.

Future Projections and Strategic Moves

Bullish aims to refine its full-year guidance, forecasting subscription and services revenue between $225 million and $245 million. The company is also moving forward with its proposed acquisition of Equiniti, expected to close in early 2027.

Share Performance

As of recent trading, Bullish shares were priced at approximately $24, seeing a slight increase of nearly 1.5% in pre-market trading. One year ago, the company went public with shares that peaked at $118, but have since lost around 83% of their value.
