BitMine Increases Ethereum Holdings and Conducts Share Buyback

BitMine Expands Ethereum Holdings

BitMine Immersion Technologies, led by chairman Tom Lee, has announced a significant increase in its Ethereum (ETH) holdings, which now total 5,787,414 ETH as of July 26, 2026. This follows the purchase of an additional 9,946 ETH during the past week, bringing the company’s stake to approximately 4.8% of Ethereum’s reported total circulating supply.

Strategic Treasury Increases Valuation

Utilizing a reference price of $1,948 per ETH, BitMine has valued its entire portfolio at $11.8 billion. This valuation includes 208 BTC, $268 million in cash and marketable securities, a $180 million stake in Beast Industries, and a $61 million investment in Eightco Holdings.

Progress Towards 5% Ethereum Target

BitMine aims to acquire 5% of Ethereum’s total supply, equating to around 6.04 million ETH. With the recent accumulation, the company is approximately 96% of the way towards this target, needing roughly 247,586 ETH to reach its goal, should supply levels remain constant.

Share Repurchase Update

Moreover, BitMine executed a share buyback, repurchasing 6.1 million common shares under its $4 billion buyback program, an increase from 5.5 million shares in the previous week. Since July 1, BitMine has acquired a total of 11.6 million shares as part of its strategy to enhance shareholder value.

Revenue Generation and Market Positioning

The company’s staking efforts have yielded impressive revenue, with BitMine reporting $45.7 million from staking and validation revenue for the quarter ending May 31, which composed approximately 98% of its total quarterly revenue of $46.5 million. BitMine has staked 4,917,189 ETH, with a potential annual revenue of about $254 million based on a current yield.

Potential Market Implications

Lee has remarked on the current market dynamics, stating that the rising ETH-to-BTC ratio, at a three-month high of 0.3000, signals improving conditions, with projections suggesting ETH could test the $2,000 and $2,500 levels.

Conclusion

As BitMine progresses towards its 5% target and continues its share repurchase initiative, the impact on Ethereum’s market availability and the wider cryptocurrency ecosystem is being closely monitored. Future disclosures will provide further insights into BitMine’s ETH accumulation activities.
