Bitcoin Price Recovers to $63,600 – Can It Surpass $65,500?

Bitcoin Price Rebounds to $63,600

On August 17, 2026, Bitcoin (BTC) showed signs of recovery, reaching approximately $63,650 after bouncing back from an intraday low of $62,751. This movement marks a 1.2% increase from the previous day and indicates buyers have defended a crucial support level in the $62,500 to $62,700 range.

Market Conditions Affecting Bitcoin

The recent uptick follows several unsuccessful attempts by sellers to push Bitcoin below the established support levels. Despite this rebound, Bitcoin’s price is still influenced by various external factors, including ETF outflows totaling nearly $390 million last week and weak trend signals.

The daily chart suggests that Bitcoin has not yet reversed its wider downtrend from its peak in May 2026. Although the price surpassed the 78.6% Fibonacci retracement level at $63,166, it still has significant overhead resistance to overcome.

Indicators of Potential Price Movements

Currently, liquidity clusters around $64,100 and $64,800 are likely to shape Bitcoin’s next significant move. Bitcoin’s 4-hour relative strength index (RSI) recently climbed to 58.76, reflecting improved short-term momentum.

However, analysts caution that BTC needs to maintain momentum through multiple 4-hour closes above critical resistance points. Previous rebounds have faltered in the $64,500 to $65,500 zone, highlighting the challenges ahead.

ETF Outflows and Their Impact

Despite the price recovery, Bitcoin’s upward momentum is tempered by ongoing withdrawals from U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs. Data reveals that funds encountered net outflows of approximately $389.71 million between August 10 and August 14. This trend raises concerns about the stability of institutional demand for Bitcoin.

Furthermore, regulatory expectations have weakened, with recent assessments indicating only a 20% chance of the CLARITY Act becoming law in 2026, a significant drop from earlier in the year.

Future Price Projections

Analysts see that Bitcoin must reclaim the $65,500 level to foster stronger bullish momentum. As noted by analyst Ted Pillows, maintaining levels above $62,000 is critical, but falling below $61,900 could reverse recent gains and direct focus toward the $59,000 to $60,000 range.

A Cautious Outlook Ahead

The price action also comes amid general market volatility, compounded by rising Brent crude oil prices due to stalled U.S.-Iran negotiations. Higher oil prices could rekindle inflation concerns and maintain elevated interest rates, impacting risk assets like Bitcoin.

In summary, Bitcoin’s rebound to $63,600 is notable, yet the path toward $65,500 remains fraught with challenges. Investors should closely watch key support and resistance levels to gauge future price movements.
