Bitcoin and Ether ETFs Attract $2.6 Billion in Strong Weekly Performance

Bitcoin and Ether ETFs Attract $2.6 Billion in Strong Weekly Performance

U.S.-listed spot Bitcoin and Ether exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have captured a remarkable $2.61 billion over five trading sessions, marking their strongest performance since October 2025. This influx follows a week of positive momentum for both cryptocurrencies, particularly as Bitcoin’s price surged.

Significant Inflows for Bitcoin ETFs

Spot Bitcoin ETFs have seen $1.92 billion in new investments, accounting for approximately 73% of the total inflows for the week. On August 21, these funds recorded net inflows of $307 million, extending a positive streak that lasted five consecutive sessions. BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust, or IBIT, was particularly notable, attracting $239 million in the final session, which made up nearly 78% of that day’s total inflows.

Leading Ether ETF Performance

Ether ETFs captured $697.47 million during the same period, benefitting from consistent daily gains. The iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA) led with $151 million on August 21 and has amassed approximately $12.17 billion since its inception.

Reversal of Trends and Market Visibility

This week’s overall ETF inflows represent a notable turnaround from the previous week, which experienced a withdrawal of $391.96 million. This positive shift signifies an approximate $3.01 billion reversal in investor sentiment and capital movement, demonstrating strong demand amidst Bitcoin’s ascension past $76,000.

Market Dynamics and Influences

The recent strong performance in the crypto ETFs aligns closely with significant movements in Bitcoin’s price, which gained about 18% over a two-day period. Analysts have noted that much of this rally stems from forced buying in derivative markets as short positions were liquidated alongside increasing institutional demand. Both Bitcoin and Ether ETFs witnessed significant inflows during each trading session, enhancing the profile of crypto investments within traditional finance avenues.

BlackRock’s Dominance in the Market

On the final day of trading, BlackRock secured $390 million across both Bitcoin and Ether categories, accounting for roughly 79% of the total daily inflows. By the conclusion of the reporting period, the combined net assets across Bitcoin and Ether ETFs reached approximately $110.36 billion, with Bitcoin products collectively valued at $96.07 billion.

This resurgence in ETF investment reflects a renewed optimism for cryptocurrency markets as more investors engage with the emerging sector through traditional financial products.
