Bitcoin’s $60K-$70K Range Marks Historic Consolidation Period

Bitcoin Consolidates in $60K-$70K Range for 307 Days

Bitcoin has spent 307 days trading within the $60,000-$70,000 range, marking the third longest consolidation period in any $10,000 price band in its trading history, according to data from Glassnode. Currently, Bitcoin is priced around $64,000.

Historical Context and Technical Indicators

This ongoing consolidation follows only two other longer periods: the $10,000-$20,000 range during the bear market of 2018 and the $20,000-$30,000 range in 2022. Notably, Bitcoin is still trading above its 200-week moving average, which is about $62,873. Historically, when Bitcoin strays below this moving average, those periods tend to be short-lived, making it a significant indicator for long-term trends.

Current Market Position

Despite its stability near $64,000, Bitcoin’s current value lies about 50% below its all-time high, which was reached in October. Data indicates a strong support level, with approximately 6% of Bitcoin’s circulating supply concentrated between $58,000 and $64,000, based on the Entity Adjusted UTXO Realized Price Distribution.

Future Outlook

As Bitcoin remains in this prolonged sideways trading pattern, it has established one of its largest cost-basis clusters to date. The future direction of this consolidation remains uncertain, raising questions about whether it will eventually break higher or lower.
