Bank Leumi Partners with Galaxy for Crypto Trading Services

Bank Leumi Forms Partnership with Galaxy to Launch Crypto Trading

Israel’s largest bank, Bank Leumi, has entered into a partnership with Galaxy to offer trading services for major cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana. This new capability is set to become available in early 2027 through Bank Leumi’s investment application, Leumi Trade.

Trailblazing in Israeli Banking

This collaboration marks Bank Leumi as the first Israeli bank to directly facilitate digital asset trading for its clients. The announcement, made on August 14, 2026, highlighted that Leumi and its mobile banking platform, PEPPER, will enable users to buy, hold, and sell cryptocurrencies seamlessly within the Leumi Trade app, providing a convenient integration with existing capital market services.

Details of the Trading Service

Galaxy’s GalaxyOne Institutional will act as the trading partner, while its GK8 platform will provide custody solutions for digital assets. This approach not only leverages Bank Leumi’s established systems but also ensures customers can engage in crypto transactions within a regulated framework.

While the initial offering will include Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana, specific details regarding trading fees, minimum purchase requirements, and potential future additions of digital assets have yet to be disclosed. Furthermore, it remains unclear whether the service will have a phased rollout or be available to all customers simultaneously.

Strategic Vision

Maya Ravia, head of strategy at Bank Leumi, emphasized the bank’s commitment to expanding its financial services and providing secure access to digital assets. She stated that digital assets are increasingly vital to the global financial landscape, and Bank Leumi aims to facilitate user participation in this transformation within a trustworthy banking environment.

Galaxy’s Institutional Growth

This partnership with Bank Leumi is part of Galaxy’s broader strategy to establish itself as a key provider of crypto infrastructure for financial institutions. In 2026, Galaxy expanded its services to other major entities, including a collaboration with BNY Mellon for digital asset custody, and an agreement with Morgan Stanley for wealth management clients.

Galaxy’s Presence in the United States

As a New York-based public company, Galaxy offers U.S. investors a pathway to engage with its services. Galaxy is publicly traded under the ticker GLXY on Nasdaq, and it has achieved significant regulatory approvals that enhance its ability to serve institutional clients, including securing a Money Transmission License and a BitLicense in New York.

Conclusion

Bank Leumi’s foray into digital assets via this partnership with Galaxy represents a significant step in the evolution of banking in Israel, providing customers with access to crypto trading directly through their existing banking applications.
