B3 Exchange Launches Options on Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana Futures
B3 Exchange Expands Crypto Derivatives
On July 6, 2026, Brazil’s largest stock exchange, B3, announced the introduction of options on bitcoin, ether, and solana futures. This move is part of B3’s strategy to enhance the regulated crypto derivatives market.
Details on the New Options
The newly launched options settle into the underlying futures contracts rather than the spot crypto assets, which means there is no requirement for custody, transfer, or administration of the tokens. The options available include both call and put options on bitcoin futures priced in Brazilian reais, while ether and solana futures are denominated in U.S. dollars.
Trading and Exercise Information
According to a B3 circular, the contracts can be traded from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. local time. Exercise of the options occurs automatically at expiration if the option is in the money, unless the holder blocks the exercise.
Local Venue for Crypto Trading
This development allows traders and asset managers to hedge their cryptocurrency exposure and engage in trading volatility locally, which reduces reliance on offshore crypto options markets. B3 aims to provide more structured financial instruments by listing bitcoin options alongside ether and solana futures.
Future of Crypto Products on B3
The addition of these options signifies a broader trend in B3’s efforts to introduce regulated crypto products. Previously, the exchange had listed bitcoin options and futures for both ether and solana, further establishing its position in the evolving crypto landscape.
