Avalanche Surges with $11B Bridgetower Deal, RWA Assets Reach $2.1B

Avalanche has announced a significant milestone, achieving a tokenized real-world asset (RWA) value of $2.1 billion. This increase is attributed to a remarkable 60.47% monthly rise and is further propelled by an $11 billion institutional tokenization deal with Bridgetower.

RWA Value Growth and Institutional Adoption

Data from RWA.xyz indicates that Avalanche is now positioned among the top five blockchain networks for tokenization based on distributed value. The latest growth reflects an expanding institutional focus on using Avalanche for real-world asset deployments.

Bridgetower’s Tokenization Announcement

The surge in Avalanche’s tokenized asset value coincided with Bridgetower’s announcement on July 13 that it had successfully tokenized over $11 billion in production-linked real-world assets on Avalanche, utilizing Chainlink infrastructure. This portfolio includes various projects, such as the Arizona Copper-Gold project, signaling growing institutional interest.

Avalanche’s Competitive Position

Following the partnership with Bridgetower, Avalanche escalated to the number one blockchain for net RWA inflows, as stated in a tweet by Avalanche. Morgan Krupetsky, the Vice President of Business Development at Ava Labs, noted that this progress is “still just the beginning” for the network in terms of tokenized asset capabilities.

Continued Institutional Engagement

Avalanche’s institutional traction is reinforced by initiatives from major financial players like BlackRock, VanEck, and Franklin Templeton. BlackRock’s tokenized U.S. Treasury fund has exceeded $900 million on Avalanche, making it the second-largest tokenized asset on the platform, following Ethereum.

Additionally, VanEck is launching a portfolio that will focus on areas such as gaming, decentralized finance, and tokenized money market instruments. Other institutions have also begun deploying tokenized financial products using Avalanche’s infrastructure.

Challenges Ahead

Despite the recent advancements, Avalanche continues to trail behind Ethereum in overall tokenized asset value, with Ethereum currently hosting around $16 billion in real-world assets. The competitive landscape remains fierce, with other high-performance blockchains also vying for institutional tokenization projects.

The unique subnet architecture of Avalanche, offering tailored blockchain solutions with high throughput and low latency, has been key to attracting enterprise-level deployments. As the network prepares for more institutional projects, regulatory developments and market dynamics will play pivotal roles in shaping its future.

As Avalanche bolsters its real-world asset initiatives, including support from a $50 million real-world asset fund, it anticipates further growth and enhanced network usage, underlining the blockchain’s emerging prominence in the tokenization space.
