Ault Blockchain Launches Cosmos-Based Network Amid Banking Issues

Ault Blockchain has introduced a new Cosmos-based Layer-1 network, designed for the integration of tokenized assets and digital settlement. The initiative comes in response to disruptions in banking services that have impacted various businesses under its leadership.

Linking Network Development to Banking Disruptions

The company’s decision to develop this network arose from experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic when certain businesses under Ault Capital lost access to their funds due to banking issues. Todd Ault, the founder of Ault Blockchain, emphasized the project aims to create a settlement environment that remains operational, irrespective of traditional banking relationships.

Core Features of the Tokenized Asset Network

This innovative blockchain supports Ethereum smart contracts, tokenized assets, and institutional settlement. Governance within the network will be managed by identified participants, and tokens will be distributed without a public sale. According to Ault Blockchain, the project aspires to minimize the influence of traditional financial institutions in the settlement process while promoting decentralized trading and various on-chain financial applications.

Compliance and Governance Structure

The network is structured to uphold compliance requirements, featuring a Wyoming DAO LLC governance model. Participants must complete identity verifications to participate, ensuring that voting rights remain balanced and do not concentrate power among a small minority. The eligibility for on-chain governance includes overseeing protocol rules, economic settings, and future upgrades.

Public Testnet and Broader Implications

Ault Capital initiated the public testnet for this blockchain in February, facilitating institutional access to on-chain trading and settlement. This testnet allows developers to utilize the EVM environment, thereby enabling Ethereum-based smart contracts to function within the Cosmos architecture.

In light of ongoing discussions among U.S. lawmakers regarding banking access for cryptocurrency firms, Ault Blockchain’s new network addresses the pressing need for reliable on-chain financial infrastructure. The project seeks to ensure that compliant businesses can thrive without solely relying on traditional banks.
