Odos to Cease Operations on July 30: A Turning Point for DeFi Aggregation

Odos to Cease Operations on July 30, 2026

Odos, a decentralized exchange aggregator, has announced that it will permanently cease all services on July 30, 2026, as the operating company begins winding down. The company shared this decision via an announcement on X (formerly Twitter) on July 23, 2026.

Service Schedule and User Actions Required

The shutdown will occur in stages. On July 27, Odos will disable swaps and transition the application to a read-only mode, allowing users to access their balances and transaction records without being able to perform new activities. By July 30, all operational services, including APIs and customer support, will no longer be available.

Users who have created wallets using social logins must transfer their assets or export their private keys before the platform’s functions are fully terminated. The platform emphasizes that it operates on a non-custodial basis, meaning user assets remain on-chain and are not held by Odos.

No Specific Reason Provided for Closure

The announcement did not specify reasons for the closure and did not indicate any ongoing insolvency, acquisition, or regulatory issues contributing to this decision. The Odos team stated, “your assets remain yours and on-chain” given that the platform does not hold user tokens. Therefore, users are encouraged to act promptly to safeguard their assets.

Future of the Odos DAO and ODOS Token

Despite the company’s closure, the ODOS token will continue to exist on-chain. The operational team clarified it does not facilitate market-making or custody for the token, and the closure will not affect token balances or transfer rules. The Odos DAO, which is separate from the operating company, is expected to issue communications regarding its own future plans, although no specifics have been released at this time.

A Brief Look at Odos’ History

Founded by Semiotic Labs, Odos functioned as a smart-order-routing system for decentralized finance (DeFi), efficiently sourcing liquidity to execute token swaps. As of May 2024, the platform reported achieving over $25 billion in cumulative trading volume and supported almost 1.9 million wallets.

Following the announcement of its closure, data from DefiLlama showed that Odos had accumulated approximately $102.5 billion in cumulative aggregator volume, underlining its significance in the DeFi space during its operational years.

Final Reminder for Users

As the clock ticks down to the final shutdown, users are urged to take necessary actions to secure their assets, particularly if they utilized social-login wallets. The operational team has reiterated that any unsolicited offers for token migration or related services during this closure process are scams and should be avoided.
