Strategy Sells Shares to Boost Dollar Reserves, Maintains Bitcoin Holdings

Strategy Maintains Bitcoin Holdings Despite Share Sale

In a week marked by significant financial maneuvers, Strategy Holdings, led by Executive Chairman Michael Saylor, has reported no changes to its Bitcoin holdings while enhancing its dollar reserves. The company raised $333.7 million through the sale of 3.46 million MSTR shares.

Financial Breakdown of the Sale

The proceeds from the stock sale were allocated strategically: $132.2 million was used to repurchase 1,388,720 shares of its variable-rate preferred stock, STRC. Additionally, $52.4 million was set aside for STRC dividends, and approximately $150 million was added to its U.S. dollar reserve, bringing the total reserve to $4.80 billion as of August 16.

Bitcoin Holdings Remain Stable

Despite the considerable financial activity, Strategy did not buy or sell any Bitcoin last week, leaving its holdings steady at 840,447 BTC. These holdings were acquired at a substantial investment of $63.36 billion, with an average purchase price of $75,385 per Bitcoin, which includes fees and expenses.

Future Financial Strategies

The company’s dollar reserves are intended to ensure timely payments on dividends for its preferred stock and to cover interest payments on debt. Following these transactions, Strategy has $653 million remaining for its preferred-stock repurchase program and $1 billion available under its common-stock repurchase program.

Market Response

In early trading, MSTR shares rose by 1.3%, while Bitcoin saw a slight increase of over 1%, trading near $63,500 in the past 24 hours.
