JPMorgan Ends Banking Relationship with Predictions Platform Polymarket

JPMorgan Terminates Banking Services for Polymarket

JPMorgan Chase has officially terminated its banking relationship with the decentralized predictions platform Polymarket, as reported by the Financial Times. This decision was made in late 2025, primarily due to ongoing regulatory concerns.

Background on Polymarket’s Regulatory Challenges

Polymarket has faced significant regulatory hurdles in recent years. In 2022, the platform was barred from serving U.S. users after the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) imposed a $1.4 million settlement for operating an unregistered derivatives trading venue. Despite these challenges, Polymarket was able to re-enter the U.S. market in late 2025 after regulatory changes under the Trump administration relaxed previous restrictions.

Transition to a New Banking Partner

Following JPMorgan’s withdrawal of banking services, Polymarket has since secured another banking partner, although the identity of this new lender has not been disclosed.

Continued Engagement Despite Banking Cutoff

Even after severing its formal banking relationship, JPMorgan has maintained some level of engagement with Polymarket. The bank notably invited Polymarket CEO Shayne Coplan to a private client conference in February 2026 and remains interested in potentially underwriting any future public offerings by the platform.

CoinDesk has reached out to Polymarket for further comments regarding this development.
