Morph Unveils Non-Custodial Payments Platform for Stablecoins

Morph has introduced a new non-custodial payments platform aimed at enhancing stablecoin transactions for online businesses, freelancers, and decentralized organizations. This platform allows businesses to accept payments directly in USDC and USDT, with transactions settled on-chain.

Direct Control Over Funds

Unlike traditional custodial payment processors, Morph’s service enables users to maintain direct control over their funds. According to a press release issued on August 12, 2026, businesses can connect their self-custodial wallets to the platform, ensuring that payments flow directly into their own accounts. When a customer completes a transaction, the stablecoins are sent immediately to the designated wallet.

Features of Morph Payments

Morph Payments features tools for creating invoices and payment links, accompanied by a transaction dashboard for tracking both incoming and outgoing payments. This structure allows for a streamlined payment process, ensuring that businesses can manage their cash flow effectively without relinquishing control to Morph.

Advantages and Future Prospects

Morph claims that direct payment settlement can provide faster access to funds compared to custodial systems. However, the company did not release specific transaction speed data or information regarding fees, supported jurisdictions, or wallet compatibility.

Furthermore, Morph has stated intentions to eventually support a broader array of stablecoins, a feature hinted at by Renna Ba, Morph’s head of ecosystem. The launch also marks a significant addition to Morph’s stablecoin infrastructure efforts, which include partnerships aimed at institutional payment solutions.

Market Context and Regulations

The stablecoin market continues to grow, with Visa reporting a staggering $10.2 trillion in adjusted stablecoin volume over the past year. Nevertheless, U.S. regulatory frameworks governing stablecoin payments are still under construction, following the enactment of the GENIUS Act in July 2025, which established federal regulations for stablecoin issuers.

As Morph continues to develop its platform, the future prospects of their non-custodial solution may play a crucial role in shaping user experiences in the stablecoin payment landscape.
