Bitcoin ETFs Attract $853.5 Million in Record Inflows
In a remarkable turn of events, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted approximately $853.5 million during a streak of five consecutive inflow sessions from August 3 to August 7. This surge in demand in August significantly reversed the withdrawals observed in the previous week.
Significant Rebound in Inflows
According to data from SoSoValue, these inflows represent a marked recovery, with Bitcoin ETFs capturing a net influx of funds after experiencing a net outflow of $61.5 million the prior week. Notably, August’s inflows already amount to nearly five times the total garnered in July, which was $172.4 million.
Daily Inflow Breakdown
The inflow trend commenced with $170.1 million on August 3, followed by $211.5 million on August 4. The strongest session of the week occurred on August 5, with $244.4 million recorded. The momentum continued with an additional $128.8 million on August 6 and $98.85 million on August 7.
BlackRock Dominates Bitcoin ETF Demand
BlackRock led the way in new investments, with its IBIT fund attracting an estimated $693 million during the five sessions, accounting for roughly 81% of total Bitcoin ETF inflows. Fidelity’s FBTC followed, bringing in $40.95 million. Other funds like Bitwise’s BITB and ARK 21Shares’ ARKB recorded smaller inflows.
Comparative Performance of Ethereum ETFs
Ethereum ETFs also saw substantial inflows during the same period, attracting approximately $244.9 million from August 3 through August 7. The inflows peaked with a $92.15 million addition on August 6, coinciding with Ether trading above $1,900.
Limitations on Other Crypto ETFs
While Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs thrived, other smaller crypto ETFs experienced limited demand. Smaller categories, such as XRP and Solana funds, reflected modest movements, leaving clear indications that the majority of regulated investment interest remains centered on Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Conclusion
As of August 7, total spot Bitcoin ETF net assets reached approximately $79.50 billion, indicating a strong investor appetite and a significant recovery from previous trends. Despite these inflows, Bitcoin’s price remained around $65,000, highlighting the ongoing volatility in the market.
