Circle’s Shares Surge After Strong Earnings Report Amid Revenue Miss

Circle’s Shares Surge Following Earnings Report

Circle’s shares experienced a notable surge of 10% in pre-market trading after the stablecoin issuer announced its second-quarter earnings, which exceeded expectations in terms of profit, despite a slight revenue miss.

Earnings Performance

The company reported adjusted earnings of 18 cents per share, surpassing analysts’ consensus estimate of 16 cents. However, revenue reached $701 million, which, while reflecting a 7% increase year-over-year, fell short of Wall Street’s expectations of $712 million. Circle’s net income from continuing operations was $48 million, exceeding the projected $43 million, and adjusted EBITDA grew by 8% to $143 million.

USDC Expansion and Transaction Growth

Circle’s dollar-backed stablecoin, USDC, saw its circulation rise to $73.3 billion by the end of June, marking a 19% increase from the previous year, though it represented a decline from its peak of nearly $80 billion earlier in 2026. Additionally, on-chain transaction volume surged by 151% to reach $14.8 trillion during the quarter, highlighting robust activity within the ecosystem.

Insights from CEO Jeremy Allaire

“Our quarterly financial results reflect the current rate environment and a crypto market that has slowed. But the institutions using USDC today, like BlackRock, BNY and Standard Chartered aren’t piloting, they are expanding,” said CEO Jeremy Allaire.

Focus on Arc Blockchain Development

The earnings report also provided significant updates regarding Circle’s Arc blockchain network, which is on track to launch its public mainnet on September 16. The company disclosed that over 100 ecosystem and institutional builders are currently developing on Arc. The founding validator set includes notable firms such as BlackRock, DTCC, ICE, Mastercard, Visa, and Galaxy.

BlackRock is set to deploy its BUIDL tokenized U.S. Treasury fund on the Arc network, while DTCC is working on infrastructure to tokenize securities held in its depository. These initiatives signify Circle’s intent to establish Arc as a key framework for tokenized assets and institutional payments.

Growth of Circle Payments Network

Circle also highlighted ongoing growth in its Circle Payments Network (CPN), which achieved an annualized transaction volume of $14.7 billion over the past month, a 76% increase from the prior quarter. Currently, 175 financial institutions are active participants in the network.

Furthermore, Circle recently received approval from the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) to create Circle National Trust, allowing it to operate as a stablecoin issuer under a federal trust bank charter, thereby strengthening its regulatory position.
