Strategy-Linked Wallet Transfers 1,030 BTC Following $105M Sale

Strategy-Linked Wallet Transfers 1,030 BTC Following $105M Sale

A wallet associated with Strategy has moved 1,030 Bitcoin, valued at approximately $66.14 million, on August 5, 2026, according to analysis from on-chain analytics platform Lookonchain. This transfer raises questions regarding the company’s treasury strategy, particularly following a substantial sale of Bitcoin earlier this week.

Recent Bitcoin Transaction by Strategy

Last week, Strategy confirmed the sale of 1,638 Bitcoin, garnering $104.73 million to fund preferred stock dividends and share repurchases. The company’s holdings were reported to be 842,138 Bitcoin, acquired at an average price of $75,419 per coin.

Clarification on Wallet Transactions

Despite the significant transfer, Strategy has not officially confirmed whether this latest instance represents a sale. Lookonchain suggested that wallet transactions do not inherently imply a change in ownership or a sale but may indicate movement between custodians or internal accounts.

The company’s official records still reflect the same holdings of 842,138 BTC as of its last Securities and Exchange Commission filing dated August 2. Therefore, any changes from this transfer may not be visible until future filings are made.

MARA’s Transfer to Two Prime

In a separate development, MARA has transferred 6,000 BTC, valued at about $384.6 million, to addresses linked with Two Prime, an asset management firm. Lookonchain has indicated that this movement does not necessarily signify a sale and could relate to financial management.

Impact of Recent Market Activity

As of the time of reporting, Bitcoin traded near $64,387, reflecting a slight increase. The news surrounding Strategy’s transfers did not prompt any significant selloff in the market. Investors will await further disclosures to confirm the purpose of these Bitcoin movements.

Strategy has committed to informing the public of any significant Bitcoin monetization through standard Form 8-K filings. Future updates will clarify whether the recent 1,030 BTC transfer modifies reported holdings or serves another purpose.
